Proper Catch and Release Technique ~Don't exhaust the fish during fight. The fish will revive quicker if it is not exhausted and will have a better chance of surviving. ~Wet hands before touching fish. This prevents the removal of the fish's natural protective coating. ~Try to release fish in water instead of beaching the fish. This is less stressful on the fish. ~If taking a picture, do so quickly and try not to keep the fish out of the water for a long period of time. Fish breathe in the water; taking them out of the water causes them to suffocate. ~Support a fish properly when taking photos. Without proper support, the fish could be physically harmed. ~When releasing a fish, support the fish carefully and easy it back into the water.
